One Important Thing I Encourage You To Do

Later this week is my favorite holiday of the year – Independence Day.

Around July 4th we have multiple events in our neighborhood that bring together hundreds of families and their friends. It’s so awesome to see neighbors from different cultures, countries, and backgrounds conversing and celebrating together, and displaying gratitude.

The older I get and the more people I interact with, the more I realize that many of us take a lot of things for granted.

So, here’s what I encourage you to do this week...

Reach out to one person – text, email, call, or tell them in person why you’re grateful for them OR something you appreciate about them. It will take you two minutes.

If you’re willing to take things a step further, think about other ways you can be thankful and grateful throughout the year. I’m often asked where all my positivity comes from. A big part of the answer is gratitude. I practice it every single day. I literally get up and within the first 10 minutes say the following words out loud “I’m grateful for…” and I fill in the blank with something.

Displaying gratitude helps with our mental health – it’s been proven to reduce stress and anxiety – and it helps keep us balanced. Gratitude also energizes us, and showing gratitude often creates more gratitude.

We all have reasons to be grateful, even when the circumstances of life absolutely suck.

And here’s the best part… gratitude is 100% free!

Have a wonderful rest of the week and I’ll see you back here next Tuesday.
